Emtiaz Diab | Founder and Director

Emtiaz Diab's prolific career spans 30 years as a photographer, investigative journalist, author, film-maker and Media & Comms trainer. Her unique literary style and critical voice earned her a wide readership in Palestine and the Arab world from her work with Mahmoud Darwish as a writer for his newspaper, Al Karmel during the intifada; to her career as an International UN media correspondent.

About Emtiaz

 

 In 2011, she directed the first film about the assassinated peace activist Juliano Mer Khamis, Being With Juliano. She co-produced the documentary film Stone-Throwers in 1988, a unique portrayal of the youth of the first intifada. She wrote and directed Nūn wa Zaytun, (2015), a road trip through the hills, valleys and villages of Palestine. She is currently working on her first Docu-drama feature film “Birth of words”.

Emtiaz has worked as a journalist and reporter for the BBC, Al Jazeera, Deutsche Welle, Radio Vatican amongst others and is the author of over dozens of publications. She has since established Nun Films and Publishing in 2014 in Ramallah, Palestine as a non-profit limited company to incubate, produce, and promote films and Palestinian cultural production.
